Frill Cardigan Sweater

This is my latest project. I started it last Friday and hope to have it done this weekend... keyword hope.
It started off really well, I finished the back panel and left panels super fast! Then the dastardly right panel and I declared war on one another.

Ok, so its not the sweaters problem, but my lack of reading the pattern correctly... which is funny since only two days ago I claimed how proud I was that I am "pattern literate". Well, I'm still in kindergarden I think. I had to rip and start that darn thing twice so far. And why? Because I can't read numbers either apparently. I casted on the wrong number of stitches TWICE. So... after 42 rows knit/purl, rip out, scream, 42 rows knit/purl, rip out, scream and pull my hair out, and another final 42 rows knit/purl, I'm back where I was Tuesday night. I blame it on the boob-tube... I had to watch Lost last night and wasn't paying attention to my stitches! Why am I admitting this on my blog? Because I figure everyone has done this... ok so I'm really hoping I'm not the only moron whose done this before.

I'm using cascade yarn in Grannie Smith color. So far I'm really pleased with the way this is turning out. I haven't really blocked my panels yet, but I layed them out to help keep the edges from rolling so when I get (err, if I get) to the point when I need to sew it will go smoothly. I'll be sure to post pictures soon, but only after the right panel stops its revolution against me!

I LOVE that pattern - maybe when I get WAY more advanced I can make that!

You can do it now! All you need to know is knit and purl ... which you do!

I picked up the pattern at a local knit shop, its Sirdar Click Ruffle Cardigan #8741... you can find it on the net at a couple places if you google it! Its been easy so far--aside from the problems I have had but thats just from my lack of experience reading patterns correctly!
